Craniosacral Therapy, also known as CST and Cranial Sacral bodywork, is a gentle, subtle, but powerful type of bodywork that uses light touch to enhance the body’s natural healing processes and relieve chronic pain patterns and dysfunction.
The Craniosacral region is located between the cranium and the sacrum. It consists of the structures, membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, and exhibits a rhythmic, mobile activity between 6-12 cycles per minute. It can be palpated most easily on the head, but can be felt anywhere on the body. The CranioSacral system influences, and is influenced by, the nervous, musculoskeletal, vascular, lymphatic, endocrine and respiratory systems. Thus, CranioSacral Therapy can be used to treat dysfunctions within those systems.

Using a light touch, Connie, our CranioSacral therapist and licensed acupuncturist will work on the joints in the bones and/or the fascia, a continuous network of tough, elastic tissues that wrap around all our muscles, organs, and vessels. Connie monitors areas of restriction, stress and dysfunction in the body-wide fascia, and employs techniques to release these areas so that the tissues can reestablish their natural mobility. This will restore the flow of fluid, blood and lymph in the body.
