Founder & Owner

Adele’s passion for Chinese medicine – which includes acupuncture, herbal medicine and dietary therapy among other types of treatments – began in 1987 when she met a Chinese medical doctor while a student at Indiana University. She had been searching for a natural form of medicine to study in order to help others alleviate suffering and pain. Having never before encountered Chinese medicine she was intrigued and began studying privately with the doctor. Little did she know, this was the beginning of a journey that would not only take her to China, but would change her life forever.

After receiving her master’s degree in Chinese medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (where she taught from 1999 to 2006 and served as department chair of herbal medicine for four years), Adele spent two and a half years studying in Beijing and concluding two hospital residencies focusing on gynecology, infertility, sports medicine and pain management.

In 1999 Adele opened her own private practice in New York City, Adele Reising Acupuncture – a thriving practice helping people restore their health, well being and vitality.

Fluent in Chinese, Adele reads classical Chinese (the language used in medical texts) and continues her studies to this day with a Korean master, Wan Duk-Huang, and Taoist master Jeffery Yuen.
