Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people who read it with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, magnify the page, or use voice control.

Conformance

This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, at level AA. It is partially conformant: most of the site meets that standard, and the exceptions are set out below.

We assessed it ourselves in August 2026 rather than commissioning an independent audit. That assessment covered heading structure, landmark regions, keyboard focus order and visibility, form labels, alternative text for images, color contrast, and whether anything on the site conveys meaning by color alone. It did not include testing with people who use assistive technology daily, which is the one kind of assessment we cannot do for ourselves.

What we have done

  • A skip link at the top of every page, so a keyboard user can reach the content without passing through the menu.
  • Every part of the site, including the menus and overlays, reachable and operable by keyboard alone.
  • A visible focus outline wherever the keyboard is, and never removed.
  • Text contrast that meets or exceeds the standard throughout, including the footer.
  • Descriptions on images that carry information, and none on images that are purely decorative, so a screen reader is not made to read them out.
  • Respect for the reduced-motion setting: the moving footage on the home page is replaced with a still image for anyone who has asked their device to reduce motion.
  • Nothing that relies on color alone to tell you something.

Known limitations

Two things fall short, and we would rather say so than not.

  • Reading order beside some images. On the practice and philosophy pages, where a photograph sits beside a passage of text, a screen reader announces the photograph before the text even where the photograph appears second on the screen. The information is all there, but not in the order the page implies.
  • Image descriptions are prompted, not enforced. Our content system warns whoever publishes a page if an image has no description, but does not stop them. If you find an image without one, please tell us and we will fix it.

Content provided by others

Two parts of this site are operated by other companies. We cannot audit or change what they produce, and we do not claim they meet the standard above.

  • The insurance verification form on our insurance page is operated by HIPAAtizer.
  • The map on our contact page is provided by Google.

If either of them prevents you from doing what you came to do, telephone us or write to us and we will do it with you directly. You will not be disadvantaged for not using them.

Telling us about a problem

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to know. Write to info@adelereising.com or telephone 646 336 1280, and tell us the page and what happened. We aim to reply within a reasonable amount of time, and we will tell you what we can fix and when.

If something on the site is stopping you from booking, asking a question, or finding out what we charge, tell us and we will do it with you over the telephone in the meantime.

Our building

The clinic is on the fifth floor at 37 East 28th Street, with step-free access from the street and elevators to the floor. If you would like to know more about the space before you come, telephone us and we will describe it, or arrange for someone to meet you at the entrance.
